Happy Thanksgiving!

Due to the holiday, my online time this week is going to be limited so no new posts this week.

However, I did want to take a moment to reflect on all that I have to be thankful for at HillRunner.com, mainly all of you who make HillRunner.com what it is.

Without those of you who loyally visit to see what I have to say or use the tools I have provided elsewhere on this site and especially without those of you who are willing to share your own thoughts, HillRunner.com wouldn't be here. It means a lot to me that you are willing to take the time to read everyone's thoughts and especially that some of you are willing to take even more time to share your own thoughts.

Even more, it means the world to me that several of you have placed your trust in me to guide your training. I always strive to do my best and I love that you challenge me to make myself better every day. The group of runners I have the privilege to coach is a great group of diverse people who always make the job exciting, fun and challenging in just the right way.

I am thankful every day for running and all that running has given me. I hope those of you reading this feel the same way.

Thanks, Ryan! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

I hope by the beginning of the new year I'll be ready to start training again. I have a pretty good streak of running going (90 days today) so I think I'll have a good enough base to start training again.

Thank you Jackie.

I've noticed your running is building back up nicely. I can't wait to hear from you that you're ready to go after some new goals!

Whoops, not so quick to check your blog...but I do read it! Hope you and the family have a wonderful holiday season! I generally like to balk whenever you give me a cut back week or something...but you always listen to my crabbing and sometimes I can even strike a bargain w/ you--I'm thankful for that! :D Thankful that you give me solid reasons and articles to read that drive home the whys of what we do. Love knowing I can trust to you to keep me on a solid schedule. At 51, I'm not always confident the PRs will continue. And yet? Still squeaking by! Looking forward to continuing the trend in '14 and hitting that dream pace.

Thank you Diane. To tell you the truth, you're fun to coach because you are always challenging me and asking me questions. As you know, on at least one or two occasions, conversations we've had have spurred blog posts. As you may not know but could likely guess, I've also taken discussions we've had and used them to start discussions with others I coach.

You've told me you think you're a pain at times but I don't see it that way. I like being challenged or questioned as long as we can have an open, constructive dialog, which we always have. You challenge me to do a better job and ensure I always have a solid foundation for what I'm doing.

Keep questioning. It will help us both keep improving!
